Let’s see if we’re a good fit…
Healing, learning, and progress are continuous processes and often begin with imperfect beginnings. Like many, I have felt down, overwhelmed, stressed, uncertain, and doubted myself. I view these experiences as influential in shaping my compassion and empathy as a therapist and often reminds me of the courage it takes to reach out for support.
The biggest misconception about mental health is that reaching out for help is indicative of "not being strong enough" as individuals; Acknowledging and actively saying "I need help" is far from a deficit - it is a sign of courage, strength, and self-awareness.
I often remind myself that "Life and healing is not perfect or linear, and growth happens in small and consistent steps - not giant leaps." This helps me stay positive, grounded, and patient both with myself and others.
I help clients acknowledge and understand their thoughts and emotions, identify and enhance coping skills, challenge unhelpful patterns, and foster self-compassion. Collaboratively, we can create a foundation and strive your ideal self and life!
You can expect someone who is patient, open-minded, and genuinely invested in your journey of growth. I will meet you where you are, and ensure the process feels safe, validating, and empowering.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.
I’m here for you.
Q&A
-
I have always enjoyed connecting, interacting, and understanding others. I also like to see the greatness and positives in people and things and I always hope and try to help others see themselves and live their lives that way.
-
I am especially passionate about support teens and young adults as they navigate their hardships, identities, relationships, and life changes. As I recognize the uniqueness of everyone and their lives, and the importance of meeting others where they are, I value integrative work where I can draw from a variety of approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based therapies, PCT, and narrative therapy!
-
I want clients to know that I always strive to create a comfortable, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where their concerns and feelings can be safely and collaboratively explored. I also hope to relay that I am stimultaneously gentle and engaged; I will walk beside you, reflect with you, and support your goals at your pace.
-
Empathy, patience, respectful curiousity, and authenticity. I recognize that a competent counsellor does not just simply listen; they listen and engage with intention and without judgement.
-
Though I would like to say I appreciate all, I value client's who are curious, genuine, and committed to their progress. However a client shows up is also appreciated as every form of engagement is meaningful.
-
Outside of simply supporting others, I love having the privilege of observing the apparent or subtle shifts when someone feels truly seen, understood, and hopeful. It is an honour to be able to facilitate a space where people can feel comfortable in being vulnerable and explore who they want to become.
