Fees & Insurance

  • YES. Some of the therapeutic counselling services we offer ARE tax-deductible.

    Specifically, any Psychotherapy services that are provided by a Registered Social Worker (with either a MSW or RSW designation) DOES qualify (as per Revenue Canada) as an income-tax deductible medical expense.

    However, any Psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (with a RP or RP Qualifying designation) DOES NOT qualify as an income-tax deductible medical expense.

  • IT DEPENDS. You will have to check with your extended health insurance provider.

    Currently, Psychotherapy is NOT publicly funded under OHIP in Ontario, unless those services are provided by a Psychiatrist or a General Practitioner (GP).

    However, many workplace extended health care plans offer coverage for therapy services.

    We strongly recommend that you check with your insurance provider (or employer) before starting therapy, to understand and verify what portion of our services will be covered under your extended health benefits plan.

    For example, some insurance companies WILL cover services delivered by a Registered Social Worker (either with a MSW or RSW designation) but WILL NOT cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (with either a RP or RP Qualifying designation).

  • OUR RATES VARY. Each session is priced by the therapist and the service offered.

    We offer a wide range of therapeutic services and our rates reflect the expertise of our therapists and the diversity of the specialized services we offer.

    Overall, our rates for general therapeutic services vary from $75 CDN to $175+ CDN per session.

    Our rates for specialized services vary from $140 CDN to $275+ CDN per hour.* Retainers are required for some services

    While we do have established rates, we also offer an Affordable Counselling Program for clients facing financial barriers.

  • NO. We do not bill insurance companies directly.

    After we receive payment, we provide you with a receipt that has all the required information for you to submit your session to your insurance company.

  • We accept Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), e-transfer, and cash.

    Please note we do not have a machine on site to process credit card payments. We add your credit card to your client file through our secure online booking system OWL.

  • If you are booking any appointment - including our free consultation - you will be asked to provide a credit card.

    Credit cards can be added to your account in-person, over the phone, or via our client portal.

    We only confirm payment the day of your session - if applicable. Free consultations are not billed.

    If paying by credit card, we process payment after your session and email you a receipt.

    If paying by e-transfer, we will send you your invoice, with the directions on how to pay/email address. Once received, we will forward you the receipt. The receipt will indicate information pertinent to insurance submissions.

  • ‌You can update your information or payment method via the online client portal OWL, by calling the office, or in-person at one of our two locations.

Policies & General Info

  • We understand that life happens and you may have to cancel an appointment.

    We ask that you please let us know as soon as possible. Specifically, we require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

    If you need to cancel an appointment, please reach out to us via email OR phone, or contact your therapist directly.

    Unfortunately, if you do not provide us with 24 hours notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee at your therapist’s full rate.

    Please note that this includes not showing up for your session and/or rescheduling at the last minute. This policy is in place to be fair to other clients and our therapist’s time.

  • Please, let us know as soon as possible.

    Specifically, we request 24 hours notice to reschedule an appointment.

    If you need to reschedule your appointment, please reach out to us via email or phone directly.

    You are also welcome to contact your therapist directly or you can use our OWL client portal as well.

  • IT’S OKAY. Just let us know.

    A good therapeutic relationship is important for your comfort, confidence and success, and as therapists, we understand this.

    We recommended trying 2-3 sessions with your therapist and if you feel like it’s still not the right fit for you, we are happy to book you with someone else.

  • NO. We do not provide emergency services.

  • NO. We believe you should be able to heal the way you want.

    We offer therapeutic services via secure video, via phone, or in-person sessions at either or Burlington or Oakville, Ontario locations.

    You can choose how you would like to have your sessions with your therapist.

    Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 9am - 8pm

    Thursday: 12pm - 8pm

    Sunday: CLOSED
